![]() A timecode slate (clapperboard) has a display that shows the timecode of the video and audio. The clip above runs at 24 frames per second from 10:29:01:00 to 10:29:04:24 or exactly 4 seconds. For example, in the slate picture above, the timecode shows that the picture begins at 10:29:01:00 (10 hours, 29 minutes, 01 seconds, 00 frames). The timecode represents the time in the form of hour:minute:second:frame format (HH:MM:SS:FF). Unless your edit is over 1 minute, A and B should both be 0.įinally take your original frame duration, subtract result A and add result B. Now take that same original frame duration, divide by 18000 (10 minutes), drop the remainder and multiply the result by 2. Take the resulting frame duration, divide it by 1800 (minutes) and use the INT command on the result to remove the remainder. Othereise you want to create the modifer to compensate for the dropped timecode frames. Unless your edits are over a minute this can work for most. Now you have your edit duration calculated in frames. no need to add 1 frame, CMX is already inclusive. Subtract your out frames from your in frames. Then add all four results together and you now have total frames for that timecode from hour 0.
