![]() This added loot is meant to tease you with a tough decision: Take what you can quickly, or stick around for added treasures, daring other players to interrupt you and snatch your booty? The choice is yours. Sea Forts take just a fraction of the time to beat as compared to Skeleton Forts. This will be stashed in a random hiding spot each time you arrive at a Sea Fort. Best of all, you can even find a second key, the Fortress Store Room Key, that opens an extra loot room on the top floor of the Fort. On every floor, you'll find cabinets, crates, and dressers that open, and in most of these, you'll find even more trinkets you can trade for gold. Also, note that Sea Forts have a lot more interactivity to them than typical Forts. Once the dust settles, be sure to gather all of this loot. Inside that treasury, you'll find lots of Damned treasure-the ghostly green chests, skulls, and supply caches-but all around the Fort either during or after your fight with the phantoms, you'll find other loot scattered about. Defeating the Captain will cause them to drop their Fortress Treasury Key, which is used to open the main loot room of the Fort, found just one floor above sea level. You can travel to any Sea Fort and dodge a few cannonballs before docking and heading inside to fight waves of Flameheart devotees.Īfter five rounds of the horde-like PvE combat, the Phantom Captain will emerge as your boss to battle. These pyramid-like fortresses made of stone have emerged from beneath the sea as Captain Flameheart's influence across the pirate realm continues to regain its dominant position. Here's all you need to know about Sea Forts, including where to start them, how to beat them, and what's going on with that Prison Cell Key. Rather than a dozen or more rounds of battling skeletons, these new Sea Forts take only a few minutes to complete, though they retain the lucrative qualities of the legacy Forts. The highlights of this season's new content are the new Sea Forts, housed by phantoms and designed to be quicker takes on the long-standing Forts in Sea of Thieves. TL DR: If you take a skull fort key to another skull fort without the cloud on it, the room will be empty and you won't keep the key. It's Season 6 in Sea of Thieves, and that means new mysteries and adventures await. It was a great run and we had lots of fun and just chalk it up to a learning experience and I thought I'd spare anyone else the trouble who may find themselves in a similar situation of grab and run during a skull fort scuffle. My theory is that the loot doesn't even spawn in until the fort is picked and the cloud forms. What followed was the saddest moment of our pirate life. Instead, while we were all screaming and cheering about how sneaky we were and outplaying more skilled people than us, the door fell down to a COMPLETELY EMPTY treasure room. We sailed to a far away skull fort, one with no cloud or skellies defending it thinking we would get some free sneaky loot. We didn't want to chance going back to that island because one of the was anchored there the whole time we were sailing away. We sailed far away so they stopped following us (I don't think they knew what we had done). I grabbed the key and my crew hauled out of there with the key while they kept fighting, thinking we'd been REAL thieves. I ran onto the island to find the Captain had already spawned and spent the next few minutes killing the Captain. One of them had painted sales and hull already. It was an amazing event, but these guys were much better than us. We pulled into a skull fort (One with the cloud and everything) to find 3 other Galleons fighting it out. Need more details?
